From Luton or Harpenden you pick up the A1(M) at Junction 9, head east to Junction 8 where it merges with the A1/M11, then south on the M11 to Junction 8 for Stansted. That’s it. How long does it take from Luton to Stansted?
55–65 minutes off-peak. A1(M) from Luton to Junction 8 (where it meets the M11 southbound), then north on the M11 to Stansted. No M25 involved. In peak commuter traffic allow 75 minutes.
Is the Stansted drop-off charge included?

Is the train from Luton to Stansted an option?
There’s no direct rail link. You’d go Luton to London St Pancras, then Liverpool Street to Stansted on Stansted Express. That’s 90–120 minutes and two London terminals with luggage. For most passengers from the Luton area, the taxi is faster and easier door-to-door.
